Faith…Virtue…Knowledge

The second epistle of Peter begins with this prayer: “may grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord” (2 Pet 1:2).

Knowledge of God is something that is given to us through our Lord Jesus Christ, and it is something we are to grow in. It is not prideful to claim to know God, because it is actually an act of his grace. It is thoroughly biblical in that he has made himself to be known to use. Genuine knowledge of God is the result of the righteous activity of God himself.
