Want to know the Bible better?

We invite you to join us in a study created by our very own Dr. Greg Lanier – Old Made New. He has created a study guide that we will use alongside his book to help grow our skills in interpreting how the New Testament uses the Old Testament to illuminate the gospel, the person and work of Jesus Christ, and the church.

Topic: The Old Unfolded in the New

Just as we exercised this past year ‘seeing Jesus in the Old Testament books of the Pentateuch,’ we will see how the NT uses the OT to do just that. Sometimes the NT’s use of OT quotes can be confusing and often there can be many ‘golden nuggets’ to be mined behind the surface level when we see how the two passages connect.

In this study, we will critically think through the specific topics of how the OT declares the gospel, the work and person of Christ, and the identity of the church. We will also have a chance to practice these skills of interpreting and mining the ‘golden nuggets’ of OT citations in the NT. These are great skills to enrich our ladies’ personal reading and study of the Bible.

This topic may sound daunting–but women of all backgrounds are welcome and will benefit from the study, even if (or especially if) you’re new to the Bible!

Book copies and study guides are available at the Welcome Center (though you can download the guide here as well). A signup sheet is also available there. Contact the Women’s Team for more info.
