July 6th-13th!

The Bahamas mission team on its way to Nassau! (July 6, 2019)

ROC is excited to be partnering with MTW missionaries Julian and Christiana Russell for a short-term mission trip to Nassau, Bahamas!

We have supported the Russells for a few years, and our church recently hosted them for our 2018 Missions Sunday. The Russells focus on church planting (Covenant Life Presbyterian Church), and community development (leadership development and assisting with a local school) in Yellow Elder Gardens (Nassau).

  • Missionary goals: encouragement from team, tangible assistance with ministry
  • Kingdom goals: contributing to God’s work of reaping a harvest in the Bahamas

Who Is the Team?

River Oaks will be sending

  • Aria, David, Gwen, & Owen Camera
  • Abbie Shimer & Kim Shimer
  • and Hary & Veronica Toledo with Jesaiah Sullivan

They are also being assisted by our missions committee: J.B. Boonstra, Kate Lanier, Vickie Hoeskema, and Arlen & Rhoda Johnson.

How Can You Help?

We need prayer! Please be praying for the Lord to work mightily on this trip. We also need prayer for all the logistics to come together.

If you are interested in partnering with the team financially, please contact J.B. Boonstra (missions committee chairperson) or the church office.

You can also get a support card from the Welcome Center at church and put it on your desk, in your Bible, or on your refrigerator, so that you will be reminded regularly to keep this mission in your prayers.
