Acabo Mundo, November 8-16
ROC is excited to be partnering with Isaiah 61 Ministries to participate in a 10-day mission trip to Belo Horizonte, Brazil in November 2024! This ministry serves the underprivileged in a “favela” (roughly equivalent to a slum) in Acabo Mundo. ROC will be doing four main activities during this trip:
- Assisting with construction on the second floor of a newly opened community education center owned and operated by the ministry
- Leading kids from the local school on several day-trips
- Participating in the day-to-day activities of leading Bible studies for the kids in the education center
- Joining the local church for direct evangelism and prayer for those who live in the favela
Our team
We are excited to be sending a 4-person team of ROC members:
Ben Gallant is the trip leader, and he serves on the board of Isaiah 61 Ministries and has led several trips to Acabo Mundo previously. Joaquin Gonzalez is a local law enforcement officer. Dinesh Thakur works on staff at Ligonier Ministries. And Alden Warhurst is a small business owner and electrical engineering apprentice. We are delighted that God has called these men to serve in the mission field in this way!
Support the team!
We would love to have you pray for the team regularly before, during, and after the short-term trip. If you would like to partner with the team financially, you can…
- Write a check to River Oaks Church, with “Mission Trip” in the memo line
- Make a donation online, and select “Mission Trip” from the drop-down
All donations are tax deductible. The team support goal is $6,800 total ($1,700 per person), which covers air travel, lodging, food, in-country travel, and other direct ministry expenses.
Thank you for your prayerful consideration! If you have more questions, contact Ben Gallant.
