Nursery and ROCK Reopening

Great news, parents/guardians and kids! As announced at our August 9 meeting, we are taking steps towards a safe reopening of some of our children’s ministry activities this weekend, September 13!

We will begin by offering nursery (indoors) and ROCK/children’s church for grades Pre-K to 3rd (outdoors) during the 11:00am service.

Please watch the video below from Joel and Jenn about what to expect in terms of safety protocols as well as some fun ways we’ll make it special for the kids.

When you RSVP to attend the service, we also ask that you email Jenn to let her know if your child will be in nursery or ROCK, so that we can plan resources accordingly.

Promotion Sunday and Free Stuff!

This Sunday is also promotion Sunday. We invite parents and children of all ages (even those who are not in ROCK) to go outside after the second service to get a popsicle and a new ROCK Bag to celebrate their promotion to a new grade level!

For Leaders/Teachers

Please contact Jenn if you would like to be part of the teaching rotation over the coming months! She can provide you with the links to the curriculum and master schedule.

What Are the Data Saying?

We continue to monitor the data closely as a critical input to our decision-making. In recent weeks, the following important trends suggests that our plans are appropriately cautious:

  • Overall COVID positivity rate has declined from over 15% in the summer to around 5% for Seminole County in the past 2 weeks
  • Overall positive cases, hospitalizations, and deaths have trended substantially downward in August and September (so far)
  • For the pediatric demographic (0-17 years old), hospitalization rates have continued to decline:

  • Moreover, total positive cases in the pediatric demographic continue to trend downward, and thus far school reopenings have had no statistically-significant effect
