It’s Time For VBS 2022!
We’re going down under for an Australian-themed Vacation Bible School this summer from June 20 – 24, 2022!
According to the Answers In Genesis website, “Zoomerang is a sanctity of life VBS in the land down under! Be prepared to experience the jaw-dropping beauty of the Great Barrier Reef, the arid temperature of outback afternoons, the architectural marvels of Australia’s modern cities, and the fascinating eucalyptus forest, home of the koalas.”
“At Zoomerang, the newest Answers VBS, you’ll marvel at the unforgettable wildlife, culture, and beauty of Australia while exploring the wonder and value of life, from the lives of preborn babies to eternal life in the kingdom of God. During this pro-life VBS, kids will discover that life is valuable. From the tiniest to the oldest, each person is made in the image of God—wonderfully designed to know him and live for him!”
The Gospel Project: Sin Entered The World
The Children’s Ministry will start Unit 2 of The Gospel Project. According to the unit overview, this unit explores how, “Everything was perfect when God created it, but it didn’t stay that way. Adam and Eve rebelled against God. From that time on, creation was ruined and everyone has been born a sinner. But God would not leave people to remain dead in sin. He would provide the solution for sin: His Son, Jesus Christ.” This month, we’ll answer the question: What does it mean to sin? To sin is to think, speak, or behave in any way that goes against God and His commands.
Lessons this month include:
- June 5, 2022: Sin Spread to People. (Genesis 4-5) FAMILY SUNDAY!
- June 12, 2022: God Spared Noah. (Genesis 6-10)
- June 19, 2022: People Rebel Against God. (Genesis 10-11)
- June 26, 2022: God Made a Covenant with Abraham. (Genesis 12-20)
Memory verse: This unit’s verse is Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
New Communicant’s Class
Does your child profess faith? If so, they may be ready to take the step towards becoming full communing members at River Oaks.
