ROC ON Wednesday – Date Changes!
Our new addition to River Oaks Church is almost finished! This is great news, but also means that parts of the current building will be unavailable for a few days while the finishing touches are continued into the current church space. Due to this construction, ROC On Wednesday will be cancelled on March 8, 2023. The following Wednesday night (March 15, 2023) will be our regularly scheduled Spring Break. ROC On Wednesday will resume on March 22, 2023 with dinner and festivities.
The ROC On Kids program is from 6-7:30pm. A family dinner will be served from 5:30 – 6 pm. As a reminder, the dinner costs $3 per person and the maximum per family is $10. This will be an honor system – no RSVP needed! We will always have enough food for everyone! You can bring exact cash at the door or prepay here: www.riveroakschurch.com/rocon

The Gospel Project Unit 10: King Saul
This month, we’ll begin unit 10 from The Gospel Project to answer the question: Why does sin seperate us from God? This unit explores how, “Because God is holy, sin has broken our relationship with God.” (Gospel Project, Unit 10)
Lessons this month include:
- March 5, 2023: (1 Samuel 4-6) – FAMILY SUNDAY (All families are encouraged to worship together at the 11 am service.)
- March 12, 2023: God Takes Sin Seriously. (Ephesians 2)
- March 19, 2023: Israel Demanded a King (1 Samuel 8-10)
- March 26, 2023: God Made Saul King (1 Samuel 11)
Memory verse for February: This unit’s verse is Isaiah 6:5, ““Woe is me! For I am lost; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts!”
All families are encouraged to pick up a Unit Overview on the table in the children’s ministry hallway!
Save The Date for VBS!
River Oaks Church will be hosting Vacation Bible School (VBS) this summer from July 17-21, 2023!
Here is an overview of this year’s theme, Keepers of the Kingdom, according to the Answers In Genesis website:
Hear ye, hear ye! Welcome, Keepers of the Kingdom – We are engaged in an epic battle between two spiritual kingdoms for the hearts and minds of our youth. Every day, our kids are bombarded with lies about who they are and where their salvation comes from.
But we are not meant to fight this battle alone! God, the ruler of the good kingdom, has given his kingdom keepers spiritual armor to wear. With this VBS, your kids will learn how they can be part of God’s kingdom through salvation in his Son. And they will be equipped with the armor of God as they train to become Keepers of the Kingdom who stand strong in the battle for truth! Huzzah!
