Join our Toddler Talks Sunday School Series!
On October 8 a new Sunday School series on practical tips and wisdom for raising children in their toddler years will begin! The class will be taught by Dr. Kim Bougoulias, who has been a member of River Oaks for over two decades and is a recently retired pediatrician who served families in Central Florida for 30 years. She talks more about the class in the above video, and the tentative schedule can be viewed here.
This class will meet in the Wycliffe room. All parents or caregivers (present or future) are invited to attend–and there is a nursery during Sunday school, so your toddlers will be well taken care of!
The Gospel Project: Unit 16
This month, we’ll continue unit 16 from The Gospel Project to answer the question: Where is God? The kids will learn that: “God is in all places at all times and is always with his people.” (Gospel Project, Unit 16)
Lessons this month include:
- October 1, 2023: Daniel served God. (Daniel 5) – FAMILY SUNDAY (All families are encouraged to worship together at the 11 am service.)
- October 8, 2023: God is present with us. (Isaiah 7)
- October 15, 2023: God delivered his people. (Ezra 1)
- October 22, 2023: Zechariah gave hope. (Zechariah 13-14)
- October 29, 2023: The people rebuilt the temple. (Ezra 2-6)
Memory verse for October: This unit’s verse is Zephaniah 3:17, ““The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love, he will exult over you with loud singing.”
All families are encouraged to pick up a Unit Overview on the table in the children’s ministry hallway!
Save The Date for the Annual Teacher Training!
We will have our next Children’s Ministry Team Training and Team Building event right after the second service on November 12 from 12:30 – 2:30 pm. We’ll be providing lunch. This will be an opportunity for teachers to enjoy fellowship together outside of the classroom and plan for the next year in ministry! Please join us!
