ROC ON Wednesday is back!
The fall semester of River Oaks Church on Wednesdays has begun! (For short, it’s called ROC ON!)
This mid-week program is part of River Oaks Church’s larger vision for fellowship and biblical teaching opportunities for all ages on Wednesday night. ROC ON evenings kick-off with a dinner served from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. ($5 per person/$15 per family) followed by the different programs from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.
The kids program is open to any potty-trained preschooler through 5th grade. The evening starts at the playground and then the kids rotate with their age group through a bible, craft and game station! We focus on exploring The Gospel Project bible lesson of the week (outlined below) in a new and exciting way. It’s not too late to join the fun!
The Gospel Project: Unit 15
This month, we’ll continue unit 15 from The Gospel Project to answer the question: What makes people special? The kids will learn that: “People are special because we are made in God’s image, as male and female, to know Him.” (Gospel Project, Unit 15)
Lessons this month include:
- September 3, 2023: God’s people were taken captive. (2 Chronicles 36) – FAMILY SUNDAY (All families are encouraged to worship together at the 11 am service.)
- September 10, 2023: Every person matters. (Psalm 139)
- September 17, 2023: Jeremiah encourages God’s People. (Jeremiah)
- September 24, 2023: Daniel was faithful. (Daniel 1)
Memory verse for August: This unit’s verse is Psalm 139:13-14, “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.”
All families are encouraged to pick up a Unit Overview on the table in the children’s ministry hallway!
Save The Date for the Annual Teacher Training!
We will have our next Children’s Ministry Team Training and Team Building event right after the second service on November 12 from 12:30 – 2:30 pm. We’ll be providing lunch. This will be an opportunity for teachers to enjoy fellowship together outside of the classroom and plan for the next year in ministry! Please join us!
