For Just a Time as This
Esther is one of only two books in the Bible to be named after a woman–and one of only two books where the name of God does not appear. Both facts magnify this book’s importance as an exciting portrayal of God’s invisible hand at work guiding this young, heroic woman to preserve the people of God and ensure God’s covenant promises. This book also vividly anticipates how God would, in time, send forth the true king, Jesus Christ.
Come and join us on Sundays in July, August, and September as we learn how the Lord providentially works together all things–even trials and difficulties–for the good of his people and the glory of his name.
Then Mordecai told them to reply to Esther, “Do not think to yourself that in the king’s palace you will escape any more than all the other Jews. For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”
