Walking in Love

Two exciting women’s Bible studies this fall will provide an opportunity for members, visitors, and friends of River Oaks to grow in their love for the Lord through the study of his Word together. Women of all ages are invited to join in. Find out more below about our Tuesday and Wednesday studies!

Topic: 1, 2, and 3 John

Both Bible studies will be looking at the short letters of the Apostle John. 1–3 John are full of practical wisdom for the Christian life. John wanted his readers to understand that as they grew in their understanding of their identity as children of God, they ought to grow in love for one another and in obedience to God’s commands.

Over the course of 12 weeks, this study will help us see what it looks like to truly love and follow Jesus in a world that “is passing away along with its desires”—a transformed life that comes through knowing the love of God in Jesus Christ.

We will be using a study guide by Michael LeFebvre (PhD, University of Aberdeen), the pastor of Christ Church Reformed Presbyterian in Brownsburg, Indiana, and an adjunct professor of Old Testament at Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Books will be available at the Welcome Center.
