Christmas celebrates the coming of God’s light, life, truth and grace in the person of Jesus Christ! You are welcome to join us on the Sunday mornings in December as we study the opening chapter of the Gospel John together. As God’s Word is proclaimed, the light, life, truth and grace of God is Jesus Christ is made known and made available once again! Plan to come along and bring a friend. All our welcome!

- How has your childhood and relationship to your father positively or negatively impacted how you view your heavenly Father?
- How does seeing your fellow Christians as brothers and sisters impact how you think about one another? Treat one another? What are some specific things you can do which underscore your familial relationship to one another?
- Knowing that God wants us to “grow up,” what are some areas of your Christian life that you recognize an immaturity? What are some steps you can take to “grow up” in the faith?
- How does your awareness of the inheritance promised to you as a child of God impact how you live today? What can cultivate an even greater awareness?

Light and Life (John 1:4-8, Dec 9)
- What has Jesus saved you from? (sin, death, etc.) How has Jesus saved you from alienation and hostility?
- What are some ways you ignore the incompatibility of light with darkness? What lies do you tell yourself that allows darkness to dwell with light?
- Do you really live as if falsehood was your enemy? What should believing falsehood to be your enemy look like in your life?
- What are some ways you “dim the light” so as not to create conflict with others? What can you do to intentionally show the light of Christ, and not dim it, at your work, school, home, community?

- How does this text/sermon answer the questions, “Who is God?” and “Who am I?”? How would you answer those questions to an unbeliever?
- How do you interact with the characteristics of the natures of an eternal God which are difficult to grasp? Does it frustrate you? Are you unwilling to believe unless you fully understand?
- What are some ways your faith has been influenced by your own speculation of who God is?
- What area of your life do you struggle with your Creator having rights of ownership? How does God’s right of ownership over all humanity (from your next-door neighbor to those around the world) impact how you see others?
