Growing Together

While the Christian life certainly has a personal element to it, there is also an important community element as well. God has called the church to be unified and to love and care for one another. The River Oaks Community Groups ministry seeks to be a vibrant expression of the Kingdom of God through renewed relationships by caring, encouraging, edifying, and teaching one another. Key biblical passages that support our vision are as follows:

  • John 13:35 – By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.
  • Acts 2:46 – Day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts.
  • Heb 10:24-25 – Let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

Our community groups meet weekly or bi-weekly for a time of edification, prayer, support, and learning.

Leading a Group

Leading a Community Group is an excellent way to grow as a teacher of the Bible and a discipler of the people of God. While many of our elders, deacons, or staff help lead groups, we also invite laypersons to develop their gifts by leading a group.

We provide several venues for training throughout the year, and we also provide a variety of curricula to help your group flourish during its time of study, prayer, and fellowship.
