Spurring One Another On
Scripture calls all Christians to build one another up. Why? Life presents innumerable challenges, and we need one another to grow in obedience to the Lord. As individuals face various trials, we are called to “bear one another’s burdens” (Gal 6:2) and “mourn when others mourn” (Rom 12:15). We are charged with exhorting one another with sound doctrine (Titus 2:1-8). And we are called to “consider how we may spur one another to love and good deeds” (Heb 10:24).
While this “one-anothering” happens in a lot of contexts at River Oaks (including community groups), one special way we see it play out is in our women’s, men’s, and young adult ministries.
Women’s Ministry
We welcome women from all stages of life! There is a healthy mix of age groups and marital statuses. We are intentional in connecting with women who are both younger and older than we are. In this way, wisdom and perspective are naturally shared. We recognize that young moms especially need some time away to be refreshed so we offer free childcare by approved volunteers at every event we sponsor.
- Weekly Bible studies: We offer two women’s Bible studies throughout the year (typically one in the evening and one in the morning), with various childcare options. We long to be nourished by the Word of God, and we want everyone to feel welcome (especially if they are new to the Bible). We try to set aside big words and Christian jargon as we look directly at what God’s Word says. Find out more.
- Meals ministry: We provide a meal ministry to those going through difficult times and also look for other practical ways we can carry each other’s burdens.
- Special events: A lot of other women’s events happen during the year. Find out more.

Young Adult Fellowship (YAF)
Our Young Adults Fellowship is a vibrant community whose purpose is to create fellowship opportunities for the believing and non-believing young adults in our area.
Our goal is to provide a welcoming and engaging environment where young adults can build lasting relationships, be encouraged in their faith, and simply enjoy good community. We believe in living out our faith boldly, inspired by Christ’s love, and we invite all young adults to join us!
Check the church calendar for upcoming events, and join our Remind group to stay in the loop.
