Calling all lads and lassies! At Emerald Crossing VBS Kids will journey through Ireland’s lush landscapes while exploring the powerful words of Psalm 23 and learn about the Good Shepherd, Jesus Christ. River Oaks Church is excited to host VBS from 9:00 AM–12:00 PM on July 20–24, 2026.
Children from pre-k to rising 5th graders are encouraged to participate as campers. Rising 6th to 12th graders are encouraged to register as volunteers. (School volunteer hours are available for high schoolers!) Also, we need many adult volunteers to make sure that everything runs smoothly! The nursery will be available for infants and toddlers of adult helpers.
We are asking for a $10 donation per camper ($25 maximum per family) to help offset the cost of the t-shirts, snacks and crafts!

At Emerald Crossing VBS, they’ll journey through Ireland’s lush landscapes, exploring the powerful words of Psalm 23. They’ll discover the life of the shepherd-king David and will learn how to cross from worry to peace, from fear to faith, and from uncertainty to a firm foundation in God’s Word through a relationship with the Good Shepherd.

VBS Prep Week
The week before VBS there will be lots of final prep work to do in order to help everything run smoothly during the program: preparing craft materials, decoration elements, etc.
Monday, July 13 – Friday, July 17 from 9am-3pm each day, the leadership team will be at River Oaks ready to equip anyone who wants to come help with jobs to do. Youth helpers, this week is an awesome opportunity for service hours!
Decoration Sunday
On July 19, immediately following the 2nd service (about 12:30pm for those of you who aren’t regular attenders of ROC), we will transform River Oaks into a lush Irish landscape! This is always a major undertaking so we’d love to have everyone helping out! Pizza lunch will be provided for helpers.
VBS Showcase Sunday
Kids who participate in VBS are invited to sing the main theme song during our 11:00 AM Sunday worship service to share and celebrate all they’ve learned! Volunteers—especially youth volunteers—are also welcome to join in and sing along. We’d love for everyone who was part of VBS to help us showcase the fun and faith-filled week!
