Sunday Worship
- The Genesis sermon series will continue with Genesis 34 (the terrible action against Dinah)
- Important alert from the pastors about the sensitive nature of the sermon text
- At ROC we believe all of God’s Word is given for the edification of the church body
- One of the blessings of preaching consecutively through Scripture (rather than picking whatever you want to preach) is that it forces us to cover parts of God’s Word that we might otherwise want to avoid
- This is acutely true for Genesis 34, which records an egregiously sinful action against Dinah and the violent response
- While Pastor David will handle the passage with as much tact and sensitivity as possible, we wanted to alert parents (ROCK will be available in the 2nd service) as well as those in the congregation for which the material found in this chapter might be particularly painful or challenging.
- Children’s Ministry will be studying the bronze serpent (Numbers 20-21)
- We will be having a special Sunday school class to hear from the Bahamas mission trip team
