Baked-And-Other-Goods Sale!
River Oaks Church is sending a short-term mission team to partner with Julian and Christiana Russell, MTW missionaries in Nassau, Bahamas, on July 6-13th. The team will be hosting a kids camp for one week, serving children (grades 1-6) in various activities such as reading, writing/composition, sports/activities, and VBS.
Even if you aren’t part of the team, you can still be a part of the mission! Through our upcoming fundraiser, you can support the team financially to help send them to serve our missionaries and further God’s Kingdom in the Bahamas.
When
June 2, 2019 from 10:15am-10:45am (between 1st and 2nd services) and 12:00-12:45pm (after 2nd service)
What
Everyone (all ages) is invited to bring in baked treats or any other homemade goods (i.e. cards, crafts) you would like to donate for sale to raise funds for the Bahamas Missions Trip. You are also especially invited to bring your cash to buy all these wonderful goodies! The proceeds will go to help offset the costs of running the kids camp. The mission trip team members will be present at the fundraiser, so you can connect with them and learn more about the trip.
How
Bring in the items for sale 15 minutes before either of the two times listed above. Please have items individualized and pre-priced. (For example, if you are bringing in brownies, please pre-divide and label them with a sale price, such as “Brownies, $2 each”). It is preferable that you pre-bag the items. However, the missions committee will provide sandwich and gallon-size bags for storing baked goods. During the sale, we ask parents to walk through the line with their children.
If you have any questions, please contact the church office.
Bonus Round
Do you love to cook/bake? Do you have a specialty or two up your sleeve? Prepare a brief advertisement for the day of the bake sale, and attendees can place a special order for a whole cake/pie/culinary-creation (for a higher donation amount to the mission trip). You can then arrange a delivery date for the buyer. Contact the church if you’d like to participate in this way.
