God is the Source of Wisdom!

After taking a break to look at the wonder of Advent in the month of December, we are jumping back into our journey through the timeline of the Bible with Solomon. Previously we looked at great King David and heard God’s promise that a son of David would rule perfectly forever. Solomon starts out well, asking God for wisdom to lead, but eventually turns to other things and the kingdom is divided.

It is all a good lesson for us first of all that God is the source of all wisdom and that we need to rely on Him. But also that even the wisest among us is fallen and in need of a wiser King to rescue us—the ultimate king Jesus.

As we look back over the past year and gear up for 2020, we couldn’t be more proud of this amazing team and all the ways our ministry has continued growing! Not just growth in numbers but growth in organization, teamwork and passion!

Quarterly Team Meeting: Be sure to mark your calendars for our next team training, which will be happening after church on February 2nd from 12:30-2:30pm. Lunch and childcare will be provided. Please make it a priority to join us, it will be a valuable time of renewing our vision for the year, sharpening our skills and strengthening our bonds as a team.

Memory verse for Unit 11: This unit’s verse is James 1:5: “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.” You can always find a printout of the current verse in the curriculum folder.

For Parents

What a year we’ve had growing together as a church family. We hope that you’ve been encouraged, equipped, and supported this year in the discipleship of your families!

Everyone had a blast at our first ROCK Block party, and it was a great way to celebrate a semester’s worth of good work and growth by our kids. We’re excited about this new tradition (and can tell the kids are too!) continuing with our next objective through the spring semester working toward a water party complete with water balloons, super soakers, the whole nine yards!

Family worship tip for January: Take advantage of the beginning of a new year as a chance to review God’s faithfulness in the life of your family over the course of 2019. Consider starting a family record of how you see God at work this coming year so you can more clearly see and celebrate His goodness next year!
