Happy Holy Week!

As we celebrate Easter this week and look around at creation continuing to ‘spring’ back to life after the cold death of winter, it’s a powerful reminder of the new life Christ won for us that morning 2000 years ago when he walked out of that tomb. And we see Him continuing to bring that resurrection power to bear in our lives and in our church community in so many ways. Here are just a few examples of ways God is working in the ministry this month.

Receiving Communicants

As we mentioned last month, we just had a group complete the Communicants Class in March, which is the process for covenant kids becoming full communing members. On Sunday, April 11th we will have a special service where we will be welcoming them into full membership and they will be able to participate in their first communion. Moments like this are a powerful testimony of God continuing to fulfill His covenant promises to build a people throughout history. Congratulations to each of these families for a job well done passing on the faith to the next generation!

Next Team Training

Right after the second service on April 11th, from 12:00 – 1:30 we will have our next Children’s Ministry Team training. We’re going to take a look at the foundational biblical principles behind our philosophy of children’s ministry, which will dovetail really nicely coming from our special service welcoming new communicants! We’ll be providing lunch & childcare, RSVP here so we can have a good headcount for both. This is a great chance to hear the heart behind our ministry if you are new and looking to get involved!

April ROCK Blocks Party/All-Church Picnic

Our kids have been such champs over the past year and have had to wait so long for this semester’s ROCK black ice cream and water party, that we wanted to really do it up right and involve the whole church so we’ll be making an all-church picnic out of it on April 25th from 5:00 – 7:00pm (kids can arrive at 4:30 to begin playing!).

This is another one you’ll want to RSVP for to make sure we have enough food, ice cream, and water balloons!

VBS Preparation Overdrive!

Vacation Bible School is back this year, June 7-11! The dates are a little earlier than usual because we need to finish before construction starts and the planning started a little later than usual because we to be sure that construction wouldn’t already be started. That means we are now in preparation overdrive! So we need our helpers to sign up as soon as possible so we can pull everything together in time.

You can find more info and sign up to serve and register your kids here and feel free to reach out to Joel if you have any questions about how to get involved.
