Last Call to Register for VBS 2022!
We’re going down under for an Australian-themed Vacation Bible School this summer from June 20 – 24! Registration is almost at full capacity! Please email Jane@riveroakschurch.com to find out if there is any availability in your child’s age group or to be added to the waiting list.
According to the Answers In Genesis website, “Zoomerang is a sanctity of life VBS in the land down under! Be prepared to experience the jaw-dropping beauty of the Great Barrier Reef, the arid temperature of outback afternoons, the architectural marvels of Australia’s modern cities, and the fascinating eucalyptus forest, home of the koalas.”
“At Zoomerang, the newest Answers VBS, you’ll marvel at the unforgettable wildlife, culture, and beauty of Australia while exploring the wonder and value of life, from the lives of preborn babies to eternal life in the kingdom of God. During this pro-life VBS, kids will discover that life is valuable. From the tiniest to the oldest, each person is made in the image of God—wonderfully designed to know him and live for him!”

The Gospel Project: Come, Lord Jesus
The Children’s Ministry with go through the last and final section of the Gospel Project bible curriculum – Unit 36 called Come, Lord Jesus. According to the unit overview, this unit explores how, “John, who was one of Jesus’ disciples, shared more of God’s plan to send Jesus again. When Jesus returns, He will undo everything that was ruined by sin and He will make everything new and right forever.” This month, we’ll answer the question: What is the hope of the church? The church looks forward to Jesus’ return when He will make all things new.
Lessons this month include:
- April 3, 2022: John’s Vision of Jesus (Revelation 1) Jesus appeared to John in a vision. (FAMILY SUNDAY!)
- April 10, 2021: Letters to the Seven Churches. (Revelation 2–3) Jesus told churches to not give up.
- April 17, 2022: Before the Throne (Revelation 4–5) All people and creatures will worship Jesus.
- April 24, 2022: Jesus Will Return. (Revelation 19–22) Jesus will return, destroy evil, and make all things new.
Memory verse: This unit’s verse is Revelation 11:15, “Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he shall reign forever and ever.”
Did you know? The Children’s Ministry has printed copies of the monthly overview available on the ROCK Blocks table to take home. This resource can be hung on the fridge or placed in a family bible to be used throughout the week to reinforce the Bible message learned at church!

The children of River Oaks have been diligently building a barn out of blocks earned during Sunday classes! Children have received ROCK blocks for memorizing Bible verses, treating other’s the way Jesus calls us to and participating in Sunday School/ROCK. Please save the date for the next ROCK Blocks party on May 15, 2022 which will feature…A PETTING ZOO!
