ROC ON Wednesday!
Our spring session of ROC on Wednesday is back in full swing! The ROC On Kids program is from 6-7:30pm. A family dinner will be served from 5:30 – 6 pm. The menu is posted on the bulletin board in the church hallway.
As a reminder, the dinner costs $3 per person and the maximum per family is $10. This will be an honor system – no RSVP needed! We will always have enough food for everyone! You can bring exact cash at the door or prepay here: www.riveroakschurch.com/rocon

A Pattern of Disobedience
This month, we’ll complete a 6-week unit from The Gospel Project to answer the question: What is the fair payment for sin? This unit explores through the old and new testament how, “The fair payment for sin is death.” (Gospel Project, Unit 9)
Lessons this month include:
- February 5, 2023: The People Kept Sinning (Judges 2) – FAMILY SUNDAY (All families are encouraged to worship together at the 11 am service.)
- February 12, 2023: God Used Samson. (Judges 13-16)
- February 19, 2023: Wise Men visited Jesus (Ruth)
- February 26, 2023: God Provided for Hannah (1 Samuel 1-3)
Memory verse for February: This unit’s verse is Romans, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.“
All families are encouraged to pick up a Unit Overview on the table in the children’s ministry hallway!
Save The Date for VBS!
River Oaks Church will be hosting Vacation Bible School (VBS) this summer from July 17-21, 2023!
Here is an overview of this year’s theme, Keepers of the Kingdom, according to the Answers In Genesis website:
Hear ye, hear ye! Welcome, Keepers of the Kingdom – We are engaged in an epic battle between two spiritual kingdoms for the hearts and minds of our youth. Every day, our kids are bombarded with lies about who they are and where their salvation comes from.
But we are not meant to fight this battle alone! God, the ruler of the good kingdom, has given his kingdom keepers spiritual armor to wear. With this VBS, your kids will learn how they can be part of God’s kingdom through salvation in his Son. And they will be equipped with the armor of God as they train to become Keepers of the Kingdom who stand strong in the battle for truth! Huzzah!
