ROC ON Wednesday…ROCKED!
The children’s ministry kicked off their ROC ON Wednesdays Kids program in September! Children in preschool through 5th grade enjoyed the extra time of fellowship and biblical exploration. The ROC ON program builds on The Gospel Project lesson taught during the previous Sunday School and ROCK during church. Kids enjoyed worship, crafts, games and bible memorization. From Jews To Gentiles
Last week, we began a new 4-week unit of the Gospel Project to learn about how the gospel is for all people. This unit focuses on how, “Paul, who was one of the greatest missionaries of all time, took the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the Roman Empire, growing the church even more. God’s promise to bless all the people of the earth was being fulfilled.” (Gospel Project, Unit 31) The big picture question in this unit will help children understand, “What is the gospel?” Children will learn that the good news of the gospel is that God sent Jesus into the world to save sinners.
Gospel Project @ Home weekly units include:
- October 3, 2021: Barnabas in Antioch (Acts 11) Barnabas went to Antioch to encourage believers. (Click here for Lesson 31.2) (FAMILY SUNDAY!)
- October 10, 2021: Jesus Is Better (Hebrews 1–8) Jesus, our great High Priest, brought a better covenant. (Click here for Lesson 31.3 )
- October 17, 2021: Hall of Faith (Hebrews 11) God works mightily through people who have faith in Him. (Click here for Lesson 31.4)
- October 24, 2021: Peter Escaped from Prison (Acts 12) God rescued Peter from prison. (Click here for Lesson 32.1)
- October 31, 2021: Paul’s First Journey (Acts 13-14) Paul and Barnabas told Jews and Gentiles about Jesus. (Click here for Lesson 32.2)
Memory verse for Unit 31: This unit’s verse is 1 Chronicles 16:31: “Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice, and let them say among the nations, “The Lord reigns!”
10/17: Teacher Training and Prep Event!
Our second Gospel Project Prep Party for all teachers and volunteers will be held on Oct. 17 directly following church. This time will include 10 minutes of children’s ministry training and 50 minutes of curriculum prep for Unit 32. This month’s training will be an overview of updates to the Children’s Ministry Handbook. During the of prep portion of the meeting, we’ll prepare crafts and activities for Unit 32 of the The Gospel Project. The crafts and activities will serve the students during Sunday School, ROCK and ROC ON. This will also be a time for teacher’s to prepare their hearts and minds for the upcoming unit and enjoy fellowship with the children’s ministry team.
