ROC On This Fall!

It’s not too late to join the children’s ministry for fellowship and biblical exploration at ROC On, short for River Oaks Church on Wednesdays! This program is for children in preschool through fifth grade. Every week starts with a family dinner served between 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. followed by the drop-off program from  6:00 – 7:30 p.m.

The ROC ON program is a continuation of The Gospel Project lesson taught during the previous Sunday School and ROCK during church. We continue to explore the bible story of the week through games, crafts, and bible lessons.  If your child wants to participate, please sign up here!

To find out what other programs are available for all members of your family, check out the complete ROC ON post.

The Gospel Project: Into The Wilderness

The Children’s Ministry will start Unit 5 of The Gospel Project. According to the unit overview, this unit explores how, “God’s solution for sin, which He promised in Eden, became clearer when God made a covenant with Abraham. God promised to bring the Rescuer through Abraham’s family. This family was far from perfect and endured great adversity, but through it all, God remained faithful, revealing that nothing could stop His plan.” This month, we’ll answer the question: Who is in control of everything? God is in control of everything in heaven and on earth. Nothing is outside of God’s good plan.

Lessons this month include:

  • September 4, 2022: God Provided Manna (Genesis 16-17) FAMILY SUNDAY!
  • September 11, 2022: God Gave The Ten Commandments (Exodus 19-20)
  • September 18, 2022: The People Worshipped A Golden Calf (Exodus 32-34)
  • September 25, 2022: The People Built The Tabernacle. (Exodus 35-40)

Memory verse: This unit’s verse is Psalm 59: 6-7, Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker! For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand.”

All families are encouraged to pick up a Unit Overview on the table in the children’s ministry hallway!
