God Provides for His People!
During the month of June, we will continue following the Israelites as they journey through the wilderness and receive God’s law at Mount Sinai..
Shortcuts: For Teachers | For Parents
Throughout each lesson we will see how God continually provides for his people despite their rebellious and wayward hearts: giving manna in the wilderness, providing helpers for Moses, and meeting with them on the mountain to provide the Ten Commandments. During June we will do all of Unit 5 and the first part of unit 6. You can read the unit overviews here: Unit 5 and Unit 6.

For Teachers
May was a great month in our children’s ministry. We were fully staffed most of the month, and we have welcomed new team members, which is very exciting. You may also have noticed that we’re trying out a few different things (such as testing out different ways of doing snacks), so thanks for your patience as we seek to continue to improve things.

Teaching tip for June: Repetition, repetition, repetition. Repetition, repetition, repetition. (See what we did there?) As adults, we often need to hear things more than once for it to sink in. How much more for children! You may think you’re overdoing it if you repeat a point or a key lesson multiple times, but you’re not. Children absorb and internalize by being exposed to truth over and over again. So don’t hesitate to reiterate your main points frequently. It may seem uncomfortable to you, but it’s not to them!

For Parents
We continue to be very excited to partner with you in raising the future generation of the kingdom of God. We have a lot of exciting things in store that we will roll out this summer: new “ROCK Books” for the children to use in their classes and at home; “ROCK Blocks” where the children will work together to achieve a big goal; and more!
Family worship tip for June: Sing! Most kids love to sing. We encourage you to check out our Books & Resources page, where we have some suggested music for family listening. Look for it under Christian Life Together > Parenting > Music. And…in June our Music Ministry will be releasing our first ROC Digital Songbook that will be a great tool for you to use with your family. Stay tuned!
